Tours

Ventanilla - One of the most successful eco-tourism projects in the country. Hand-paddled tours of the mangrove to see crocodiles, iguanas, birds and to hear about their conservation projects. One of the projects involves the collection and incubation of turtle eggs and lucky tourists can take part in the "Turtle release" around sunset. Tours cost $40 MXN per person.
Bird Watching - Specialized tours can be organized with a trilingual ecologist guide. Transport from your house is included as well as a list of local species and binoculars. Outings cost $100 MXN per person per hour, discounts for groups larger than 4. 30% of the income goes towards conservation projects in the area.
Horse Riding Tours - Idyllic horse riding tours along the virgin beach of Ventanilla offer an unforgettable experience. Tours leave at 3:30pm and last 3 hours, taking you along the wide, open beach to the river estuary where tourists and horse stop for a swim. The horses are are strong, healthy and well trained. Guides have plenty of experience and one speaks English as well as Spanish. Helmets are not provided. $500 MXN per person.
Boat Tours - Local fisherman often take tourists out to sea in power boats to look for turtles, dolphins (all year round), and whales (November-March). The tours include a little snorkelling and a trip up and down the coast to see other beaches. Tours cost $180 per person and last 3 hours. Equipment included.
Turtle Egg-laying- Depending on the season, we can arrange outings to the beach of Escobilla (the main turtle egg-laying beach in Oaxaca). Tourists with special permissions can be taken with a guide around sunset or during the night to be a witness to an amazing phenomena: thousands of Olive Ridley turtles coming to shore to lay their eggs. $250 pesos per person, includes transport, guide and entrance to the national park. Minimum 2 people.

Communities - We work with several guides that offer tourists the opportunity to visit a choice of little-known communities for tours that last 1, 2 or 3 days. Visits can include thermal baths, mangroves, walks, bird watching, community projects, boat tours and turtle conservation projects. Ask for more information.

Waterfalls - The “Cascadas Mágicas” (Magic Waterfalls) are situated 3 hours from Mazunte in the tropical jungle, Copalito river. There are dozens of pools with cool, clean water, perfect for swimming all year round. Minimum 4 people. $250 per person.
